Our location in beautiful County Kerry
We’re located in Tralee, in the north of County Kerry on the Wild Atlantic Way. You may have heard of Tralee town before, as we’re quite well known for our Rose of Tralee International Festival. Tralee is also home to the Kerry County Museum with galleries on local history and a medieval recreation of Tralee town.
Expanding out from Tralee, you’ll find that the tourist attractions in Country Kerry are some of the best locations to visit in Ireland. Kerry is located on the South West coast, and is easily accessible from major transport hubs including Cork, Limerick and Shannon. You can find us by travelling up the Wild Atlantic Way south from rugged west Cork, or visit us driving north, past Galway Bay.
And while you’re in County Kerry, take advantage of the must-see Irish tourist attractions and beautiful landscapes including: Killarney National Park, the Dingle peninsula, the Ring of Kerry and World UNESCO heritage site and Star Wars filming location Skellig Michael.
A truly historical place to visit in Ireland
Siamsa Tíre is focused on the past, present and future of Irish folk culture, encompassing a wide range of performing arts practices – including music, song, dance and theatre. Over its 50-year history, the theatre has aimed to preserve and promote Irish culture, share oral traditions and expressions, including the Irish language as both a vehicle and repository of cultural identity; along with folklore, myths, and legends.
Siamsa Tíre also strives to connect customs, rituals and festive events in line with the Celtic Calendar; to create understanding of and interaction with nature and the universe. Visitors can connect and engage directly with Ireland’s cultural heritage at Siamsa Tíre’s National Folk Theatre Training Academy.
