Set yourself a challenge with this year's Open Submission exhibition
Siamsa Tíre invites artists in the South West of Ireland to take part in our annual Open Submission Exhibition. This year the focus is on works on paper and participating artists are invited to investigate the theme of 'Boundaries: Real and Imagined'. The exhibition is open to all artists, both amateur and professional, living in the South West.
The exhibition will be selected from the artworks submitted by Sharon Murphy, a visual artist and curator based in Dublin. Her artistic practice encompasses photography, video and sound and she is the Curator of the Visual Arts programme for Draíocht in Blanchardstown, Dublin.
As part of the submission process, artists will be provided with a sheet of Saunders Paper. Artists may work on this paper in any medium they choose and completed works submitted should be for sale. Finished artworks should be submitted on the 22nd or the 23rd of November. Works will be exhibited unframed.
Full conditions of entry, application forms and sheets of Saunders paper are available from Siamsa Tíre, Town Park, Tralee (application forms and guidelines can also be downloaded from our website). There is a €10 submission fee per entry. PLEASE NOTE: The final exhibition will be selected from the works submitted. Not all works submitted will be exhibited. The final selection will be made by the curator.
The Opening Reception will be held on Friday 13th of December and the exhibition will continue until the 7th of February.
