DRAWING STUDIES: A CELEBRATION
National Gallery of Ireland

10th February to 10th March 2012

The exhibition DRAWING STUDIES: A CELEBRATION is an exhibition of adult work, reflecting their studies in the National Gallery of Ireland.  The resulting drawings are symptomatic of the joy and creativity that occurs when people of all ages engage with the collections of a museum or gallery.

The exhibition showcases the extraordinary range of work that people in later life create when motivated. DRAWING STUDIES: A CELEBRATION is not a fanfare show - it is constructed along simple lines with the clear aim of representing a cross-section of the work of students in the oldest art form: drawing.

Comprising 26 works and 6 reproductions, DRAWING STUDIES: A CELEBRATION will be resident at Siamsa Tíre in February and March as part of its tour across Ireland. The Exhibition is accompanied by a 48 page full colour catalogue.

There will be a talk to accompany the exhibition on Saturday 25th February at 3pm

If you’d like to learn more about the exhibition or are interested in organising some National Gallery drawing classes, please contact Brina Casey, National Gallery of Ireland at bcasey@ngi.ie
