Free Range Youth Theatre was officially launched in Siamsa Tíre in September 2008 and was set up by a group of people from Tralee, in association with Siamsa Tíre, who felt that there was a real lack of such opportunities for young people in the area.

The founder members of Free Range Youth Theatre are: Joe O’Brien, Michael O’Halloran,  Bryan Carr, and Deirdre O’Halloran in association with Catríona Fallon and Fran O’Connor of Siamsa Tíre.  Additional facilitators include Sharon Costello.

Free Range Youth Theatre is sponsored by the Educational Building Society (Tralee), Irish Nationwide (Tralee), Tralee Credit Union, Bank of Ireland (Tralee), Mr Owen O’Shea, The Group Theatre Tralee, and Mr Jimmy Deenihan TD.

FRYT’s most recent production, And It's All True! staged on the 9th of May at Siamsa Tíre was devised and created by the Youth Theatre members.  And It's All True! was sponsored by Kerry County Council’s Arts Office and Kerry Education Services
