Fergal O’Murchú is a native of North Mayo and was immersed in traditional music from childhood. His career has spanned nearly two decades and he holds the unique distinction of eleven All-Ireland first place titles for traditional song. Fergal studied music and theatre in conjunction with the National Folk Theatre and went on to found the now internationally acclaimed production, Ragús.  Fergal has guested with the Chieftains and the National Symphony Orchestra and continues to travel and perform internationally with his music and productions.  He previously worked with the National Folk Theatre on Moriarty(2009).

 

Mikie Smyth began playing the pipes over 21 years ago in the Pipers Club in Henrietta Street, Dublin. Through the club Mikie had the opportunity and privilege to learn from and play with many of the great pipers who were always so generous with their time and expertise. Mikie has performed both as a soloist and with shows (Riverdance and Ragús) in over 25 countries across five continents. He has recorded a solo album ‘The Wild Keys’ and has also recorded with Donal Lunny, Maurice Lennon, Sean Keane and ‘The Rubberbandits’ to mention a few.

 

Joseph McNulty is an accomplished musician on fiddle, bodhrán and guitar.  He is a five times All-Ireland champion and also holds four world titles on bodhrán. He has toured Holland and Belgium as part of Ragús.  At the age of 15 he moved to Inis Oírr where he spent three years immersed in the Irish language, and is now a fluent Irish speaker.
