Get creative this Easter at Siamsa Tíre with art, craft and environmental workshops

Celebrate this Easter Season with some great creative workshops!

Bookings are now being taken at Siamsa Tíre for the upcoming series of art, craft, environmental and dance workshops available over the Easter holidays with artists Clem O’Keeffe, Caoimhe Dunn and Maura Sheehy and choreographer David Bolger. Open to children from 4 – 14 years, they get to experiment with different materials which are all provided, and take home their imaginative creations. Workshops run from Saturday 8th April, Monday 10th – Wednesday 12th April and Tuesday 18th April.

Siamsa Tíre welcomes children and their families to get up close and creative with The Beautiful Beasts, a collection of weird and wonderful animal sculptures curated by The Ark especially for children. Visitors can meet a flying horse, a tortoise with a hidden story, a toucan in disguise and much more. As you enjoy these magical and loveable animals, children can interpret the artworks using drawing materials supplied by Siamsa Tíre up to the end of April. On Saturday 8th April from 11am – 2pm you are invited to enjoy a Family Workshop under the guidance of artist Clem O'Keeffe. Children are free to hang their works in an allocated exhibition space in the galleries or bring them home.

Caoimhe Dunnes’ workshops run from Monday 10th – Wednesday 12th April and includes nine workshops for children and an arts and crafts workshop for adults including wine on Tuesday 11th April from 7.30 – 9pm. Children’s workshops run from 11.30 - 1pm for 6-8 year olds and 2-3.30pm for 8-11 year olds each day. Monday’s theme is Easter Chicks, Busy Bees and Silly Snails is the inspiration for Tuesday and Wednesday looks at Setting Sail.

On Tuesday 18th April, Maura Sheehy’s workshops take place from 10 - 11.30am, where 6-8 year olds get an appreciation for nature in a Seed Sowing workshop. With hands-on learning, children plant their own seeds and are given basic lessons on seed germination and care. They take their seedlings home to nurture and watch them grow. The second workshop from 12.30 – 2pm, Jam-Jar Decoration for Flower Arranging lets children from 9-14 years get crafty with jam-jars to create the perfect seasonal vase for their own creative flower arrangements.

The fee for the children’s craft workshops is €6 per child and the adults workshop is €10. Spaces are limited so we recommend booking on 066 712 3055.
