Culture Night at Siamsa Tíre

Join us at Siamsa Tíre on Culture Night and enjoy music, interactive arts and dance!

Siamsa Tíre will host a range of events from 5 - 10pm on Culture Night to entertain families young and old! Families can get involved in two interactive visual arts projects - older children and adults are invited to work on a visual arts project created by our Artist in Residence Karen Hendy in the Round Gallery. Younger children can then help complete a garden drawn by artist Lisa Fingleton by making butterflies and flowers which will bring colour to the wall garden. Performances throughout the evening include music from the 'Welcoming the Stranger' Band, accordian player Isaac Lenko and musician Nick Moloney; choral performances from Opus '96, Ardfert Singers and the National Folk Theatre Choir. At 8.30pm the evening will finish with IT TAKES A VILLAGE, a performance of multi-cultural music and dance under the direction of Catherine Young. This new dance show is inspired by Ireland's new communities, their music, dance and songs. Featuring an international cast of dancers and musicians and spanning a myriad of dance styles with the heart-warming, moving, dynamic and energetic choreography Young always delivers. Funded by Kerry County Council, Siamsa Tíre, Creative Ireland, The Arts Council & the Department of Justice & Equality. Also supported by Tralee International Resource Centre (TIRC) & Killarney Asylum Seekers Initiative (KASI).
