Culture Night 2016

Culture Night 2016

Join us at Siamsa Tíre for a great celebration of Culture Night 2016 on 16th September.

We love to celebrate Culture Night and this year is no exception!

Siamsa Tíre's programme for the night includes a fabulous interactive project in our virtual garden in the round gallery where visitors will be encouraged to make their own bee or butterfly to add to the atmosphere.  Fergal O'Murchú and Ciaran Mulderrig will be entertaining us to their song, music and stories about their lives in music, and our own National Folk Theatre will be creating moments of folk theatre throughout the building.

The highlight of the evening will be a reprise of Catherine Young's, Welcoming the Stranger, which was first staged on Banna Beach as part of the Féile Fáilte (Casement Project) in July.  This moving and compelling dance piece was peformed to rapturous applause at its premiere - don't miss its second showing!

All events are free of charge.

Our Culture Night programme is being brought to you by Siamsa Tíre, Kerry County Council and the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural & Gaeltacht Affairs.
