Written and directed by Michael Scott in association with Siamsa Tíre - The National Folk Theatre of Ireland, in association and commissioned by The Kerryman.
An exciting new show for Siamsa Tire with songs, stories, dreams, lullabies and loves as told by the Kerryman over the last 100 years. The Kerryman, a well of stories and events and an essential part of Kerry life over the last 100 years is the basis for this production.

OILEÁN - CELEBRATING THE BLASKET ISLANDS

This production by Siamsa Tíre celebrates and explores Blasket Island living while also challenging our own notions of identity as contemporary islanders. Capturing the spirit of this island community, their traditions and customs, their wealth of song and story, their love of life and their strong kinship with one another.

CLANN LIR
Presented by Siamsa Tíre - The National Folk Theatre of Ireland
An eternal tale of evil and salvation, a story as old as Ireland itself. Based on 'The Children of Lir' it portrays the journey of four children who are doomed to spend nine hundred years in the guise of swans, but are allowed to keep their beautiful singing voices. A glorious visual, musical and magical performance.

Oisin
Presented by Siamsa Tíre The National Folk Theatre

The story of Oisín i dTír na nÓg is one of the best known and best loved tales of Fenian cycle. Oisín was a poet and a warrior of the Fianna. One summer morning when the Fianna were hunting Oisín was visited by a beautiful lady, Niamh Chinn Oír from Tír na nÓg (The Land of Youth). Oisín takes leave of his family and after a sad goodbye travels home with Niamh. After some time he become lonely and decides to visit his family. Niamh consented but warned him not to set foot on the soil of Ireland. Aiding some men he fell from his horse & was transformed from a youth to a withered & tragic figure, in a foreign alien landscape. This story is told through the Siamsa Tíre idiom of lively singing, music, dance & mime 8.30pm.
