Ireland's National Folk Theatre

At the heart of Siamsa Tire lies a five-person professional core group of full-time players supported by selected artists drawn from the local community but trained in the unique Siamsa style and idiom.

Full-time and community performers integrate and blend into a dedicated and talented team.

Training occurs in the theatre and in the Tithe Siamsa (Folk Acadamies) at Finuge in North Kerry and Carraig in Corca Dhuibhne, the gaelic or Irish speaking area of the Dingle Peninsula.

The Siamsa Tíre Company uses the stage discipline of traditional music, song and dance and mime/movement, when presenting their productions.

Productions by the company are fully accessible to people of all nationalities. This is due to the fact that dialogue is not used by the company members in the delivery of a performance.
